  Once again emphasizing AOPA China’s New Year’s goal of understanding global GA, we started the year with great news: AOPA China and Mexico’s FEMPPA will work together to increase each of the associations’ knowledge on each region’s GA, as well as act as each other’s representative in both corners of the globe.

 

  FEMPPA’s president Sergio Gutierrez and his team kindly welcomed AOPA China to their headquarters in Monterrey city Northern Airport ADL（MMAN） where we learned more about their history, organization, mission and goals. Monterrey’s MMAN is Mexico’s most user-friendly GA airport with 5 and 6 thousand ft long runways, 6 FBOs, competitive prices, 24/7 security and very friendly authorities that work together to bring the most of Mexico’s GA to the world. However, and despite all the hard work, we also learned about the challenges that Mexican GA has been facing.

  AOPA China would like to take this opportunity to congratulate FEMPPA and all of the hard-working Mexican GA community for their efforts to access policy making and regulatory authorities in their mission to make GA a positive and accessible reality. We share your concerns and hope that the relevant authorities will soon be able to understand and recognize the benefits and opportunities that a well developed GA brings to a country.

  We’d also like to celebrate our strategic cooperation and our media cooperation arrangement. Although AOPA China is still not publishing bilingually and neither is FEMPPA, we’ve agreed on using both of our communication platforms to reach global GA communities that weren’t able to be reached before. With this amazing news AOPA China visit to Mexico was concluded, but in the hopes of meeting again soon.
