Mr. Jorge Cornish is one of Mexico’s most respected pilots, APPAC aviation association founder and also, AOPA China’s good friend. We had the pleasure of getting together with him to discussing Mexico’s past and current GA situation and his personal experiences as a pilot. Mr. Cornish was chosen by the Mexican government to fly above Mexico City center for the 100th Year Anniversary celebration of Mexican aviation in 2010 (a rare and valuable privilege he cherishes strongly). We were also delighted with the narration of his flight around the world on his “Black Eagle” (M20K 231), going through the five continents and earning an entry ticket to the very famous “Earthrounder” group.
This meeting with Mr. Cornish allowed us also to extend AOPA China’s invitation to foreign pilots, aircraft owners and enthusiasts to come to China and participate in our international GA events. Mr. Cornish expressed his interest in participating with AOPA China and forwarding the message to Earthrounders and all his friends.
2013 is AOPA China’s first year of being IAOPA Regional Vice-presidency, and as such, we’re looking forward to welcoming more of our foreign GA community in our events. This year’s major events are yet to be officially announced but July’s Summer Air Expo in Shifeng’s “Ulan Buh grassland” in Inner Mongolia, and AOPA China Air Exhibition in Shenzhen in October, are already confirmed. AOPA China Economic Summit’s date and location are also to be determined soon.
We’ll certainly be looking forward to your visit.
Thanks again and fly safely!
