BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) -- The Aircraft Owners And Pilots Association of China (AOPA China) will hold their first "AOPA-China Fly-In" in August, which will allow a large number of people with licenses to hover in the sky in their private aircraft. The private aircrafts, all registered with the Civil Aviation Administration of China, will take off from different parts of China and eventually land in the northern Hebei Province, Zhang Feng, executive deputy chairman of the AOPA China, said at a news conference held on Wednesday. Zhang noted that the event was non-commercial. He did not reveal the timetable or the number of participants of the event at the conference. The association will collect data during the flights to help formulate suggestions on efficient uses of low-altitude airspace, Zhang said. The Fly-In event was first launched in 1953 in the United States. In the last week of July every year, about 10,000 aircraft fly to Oshkosh, Wisconsin from all parts of the U.S. to attend the event. |
