1 Aug. 2013----Feng ZHANG, General Secretary of AOPA China, and Yong TANG, deputy Secretary of AOPA China, were invited to the Project Workshop of Beijing GA Industrial Base held in Pinggu District of Beijing. They watched and studied the UAV test flight in Golden Lake.
Wei DAI, Secretary of Beijing Municipal Government, Meng XIONG, deputy director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Jifu ZHANG, secretary of the Party committee of Pinggu District Government of Beijing, Fan JIANG, deputy secretary of the Party committee of Pinggu District Government of Beijing, Baofeng LI, Standing Deputy District-Chief of Pinggu District, Zhixin DI, deputy director of Administrative Board of the local government of Pinggu District, Liping YAO, China-Russia Helicopter Group, Ming LI, State Research and Information Technology Group, and Qizeng QIAN, Capital GA Technology Institute, etc. attended the workshop. The Topics were on the Russia-made helicopters-assemble, UVA project of Zhonghangzhi Ltd. and IAOPA World Assembly etc.

Jifu ZHANG, secretary of the Party committee of Pinggu District Government of Beijing Picture: Feng ZHANG, AOPA General Secretary IAOPA (International Council of Aircraft Owner and Pilot Associations) was formed in 1962, which is the largest GA association in the world. IAOPA is a nonprofit federation of 71 autonomous, nongovernmental, national general aviation organizations. IAOPA has represented international general aviation for nearly 50 years. The combined total of individuals represented by these constituent member groups of IAOPA is over 470,000 pilots, who fly general aviation aircraft for business and personal transportation. The IAOPA World Assembly is held once every two years to bring affiliates together to discuss issues facing worldwide GA and aerial work. The first IAOPA World Assembly had been held in London in 1965, and the 26th IAOPA World Assembly was held in South Africa. 27th biennial World Assembly will be held in Beijing in 2014.
Jifu ZHANG, secretary of the Party committee of Pinggu District Government of Beijing, hopes IAOPA World Assembly can be held in Beijing Pinggu, and AOPA China can set up a demonstration center for AOPA Engle Plan in Pinggu to foster the young pilots.
