Social Events

The IAOPA World Assembly’s social programme will provide you with many networking opportunities, allowing you to meet with old and new friends, and experience China’s fascinating culture in the city of Beijing.

Please see below for an overview of the scheduled social events. For events included in your registration fee, no online pre-registration is required.

1. Welcome Reception

Tuesday, September 9th 18:30 - 20:30
Location: Hotel Kunlun - JADE LOUNGE

Serving British-style tea service daily, the intricately designed Baroque style, Jade Lounge boasts breathtaking white marble, elegant chandeliers, and view of beautiful greenery.

British Sandwiches with classic Chinese Dim Sum, Afternoon Tea has never been so rich! Moreover, the selected menu includes the world-renowned JOSELITO ham, fine wine, cigar and etc.

The 340-square-meter, 7-meter-high hall is an ideal venue for luxurious wedding ceremonies and mid-scale banquets for 150 people.

2. Closing Gala Dinner

Friday, September 12th 18:00 – 22:00
Location: LAN Club

All world assembly delegates and accompanying guests are warmly invited to attend.

3. Aviation Site Visit

Thursday, September 11th
Location: Badaling Great Wall (60 kilometers northwest from Beijing)

All world assembly delegates and accompanying guests are invited to visit local aviation base and learn more about China’s general aviation sector.

Principles of flight and aircraft design, challenges involved in low-altitude air transport and aviation artifacts will be presented during the visit.

Great Wall Flight Tour (Optional activity during the visit)

Don’t miss the opportunity to get a panoramic view of the world-renowned Great Wall over beautiful northern mountain ranges in Badaling.The ride over the ancient brick walls and magnificent fortresses will provide you with incredible views of the majestic embodiment of the wisdom and civilization of the Chinese nation.

Please note that due to China’s air transport policy, we will need the exact number of participants in advance; therefore, reservation for this activity is required. (See registration form.) On-site registration will not be accepted. In the case of cancellation due to factors beyond the control of the organizers, full refund will be provided.
