The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) will hold a rally celebrating general aviation’s (GA) contributions to the economy on March 28 at Bombardier’s Dallas Service Center at Dallas Love Field in Texas. U.S. Senator John Cornyn and U.S. Representatives Eddie Bernice Johnson, Sam Johnson, Pete Sessions, and Marc Veasey will be the featured speakers. Representatives from Airbus Helicopters, Aviall, Bell Helicopter, Bombardier, Dallas Airmotive, Gulfstream, and Jet Aviation will also make remarks. Hundreds of aviation enthusiasts are expected to attend, including representatives from local aviation manufacturing companies, businesses that use general aviation to ensure their commercial success and members of the military. The GA industry contributes more than $150 billion to the U.S. economy annually and supports 1.2 million jobs nationwide. GA is one of the few remaining domestic manufacturing industries that provides a positive trade surplus for the United States. Texas is home to more than 50,000 FAA-Certificated Pilots and over 2,000 civil use landing facilities. The rally begins at 11 a.m. (CST). |
